Brief

Lexis Nexis France is a division of Lexis Nexis. Lexis 360 is their main web-based digital platform, offering access to a comprehensive and unique document system, including practical content, guidance, legislation, cases, indices and rates, directories etc.  A complete legal research solution to support the legal sector.

Challenge

The product has had no direct competitor in the French market for many years, but as soon as a few other players appeared on the horizon, L360 ran the risk of becoming irrelevant and obsolete. The task was to make sure the product was highly efficient and delivering on the evolving user needs. Working with the French team was challenging at times, as there was some resistance in accepting UX recommendations and validating user research findings.

Solution

I initially worked on consolidating brand style guides and subsequently on implementing a new web system based on the Lexis Nexis global visual standards. Working iteratively with the French team we implemented progressive enhancements as well as the addition of new and refined functionality, with a particular focus on optimising the experience involving the search box and the results screens. Feedback demonstrated an increased perceived value among users, while the product NPS increased from 16.3 to 24 points.
